Meet the GSUP 1 companies

Through participating in the CivTech Alliance COP26 Global Scale-up Programme organisations and companies worked directly with some of the most innovative government and NGO programmes internationally. With the collective expertise, knowledge and networks of these programmes, these companies had a unique opportunity to accelerate product roll-out of net-zero and climate change solutions for the public sector across the world.

We have representation from programmes in the Americas, Europe and Australia with links to academia, investors and governments in each region. Through engagement with these teams, they benefited from the insight from world leaders in the innovation space, and access to pathfinders to regional government and investor stakeholders to scale their services within each region and globally.

We make it possible to recycle contaminated plastic packaging, and we do it in an ecological way because our innovative production process does not use water, does not generate waste, and produces a recycled plastic.

This results in an excellent quality recycled raw material, which makes it possible to manufacture new oil packaging without using virgin material and with cost reduction, in addition to recovering all the residual oil in the packaging that is destined for re-refining, eliminating the environmental risk.

Goodwarm is an innovative energy audit mobile application. It aims at providing end-users with information of how much they can benefit from conducting thermal modernisation. Our observation is that people are unable to undertake such initiatives, due to the high cost of professional auditors. Thanks to the advanced algorithm working behind our mobile application, the end-user need only to respond to a few simple questions and it results in highly accurate recommendations.

The key product market sector for this product private and public house owners, who are in charge of thermal modernisation. As a result of thermal modernisation, apart from lower energy consumption costs, there are many environmental benefits such as lower emission and higher resilience. The main innovation of the solution is the use of the algorithm, which takes as input some basic data and gives highly accurate energy audit recommendations.

We developed a Fire Management as a Platform Solution named Pantera®. Pantera Platform translates the pillars of firefighting into technologies to attend the three phases of firefighting  composed of Prevention and Preparation, Early Detection, and Fast Response, and Operational and SGD Impact Indicators.

Our direct market is forestry and agriculture but also any company, government, or institution aiming to protect forests and avoid catastrophic wildfire degradation. We brought together science and sensibility to develop #climatech solutions based on Academic  #humantech approach and high-end technology to mitigate the damages of the complex and increasing challenges of wildfires around the world.

We provide an end to end SAAS and HAAS solutions to tackle wildfires in the early stages and avoid huge forest losses, high CO2 emissions, biodiversity loss, respiratory problems and economic impact.

Foros (LT)

The FOROS platform offers features that estimate the value of the forest, as well as the buying and selling of the forest land via digital forest auctions. It also offers a sustainable forest management service called Foros Grow that ensures that trees can grow healthier, bigger and taller through selective logging; this involves removing the weak trees to give more sunlight for others to grow. They are creating new platform features, such as a forest carbon impact calculator.

Global leaders in physical climate risk analysis.

The XDI Platform brings together asset-level data sets with extensive climate models to provide deep analysis of an organisation’s exposure to climate change and extreme weather risk. The online interactive platform provides powerful, on-demand, quantitative insights for decision-makers, financial managers and investors.

XDI quantifies the cost of extreme weather and climate change impacts to physical assets. Our analysis empowers decision makers and asset owners in business, Government and finance to strategically manage these impacts and identify opportunities for adaptation. From high level assessment to granular detail. From probabilities of failure to a business case for adaptation.  From 1990 until 2100.  By area, by asset, by business or by hazard.  XDI is your partner on the journey from risk to resilience.

TooGoodToGo (DK)

TooGoodToGo Logo

Too Good To Go is a social impact company and certified B-corp that is building a Movement against Food Waste by providing an innovative online marketplace/app that connects consumers with surplus food from businesses such as cafés, restaurants, and supermarkets at the end of the day through geo-localisation. This way we ensure that no edible food goes to waste and with that take direct climate action. Thus far we are present in 16 different countries across Europe and North America, have saved over 90 million meals, and have a community of over 43 million people and 120,000 stores saving food.

“Reducing food waste is the most effective and immediate action that individuals, businesses, and governments can take to combat climate change -  it is the number one solution according to Project Drawdown”

Too Good To Go

Our solution supports municipal governments in managing school food by optimizing all the steps involved, from school food orders to student food evaluations. It manages menu planning, inventory and costs control, monitors child development (weight, height, allergies, intolerances, etc.) and aid with requests and deliveries of food. An intelligent assistant is used to: encourage greater use of sustainable and local family farming produce (VFL);  provide menu compatibility with stock levels and nutritional adequacy, and we automatically place food orders considering meal planning.

We impact SDGs 2, 3, 4, 8, 11 and 12; reduce food waste by 20%; and lessen food ordering errors by 20%, and increase professionals' productivity by 33%. Through direct contracts with municipalities, we provide Software as a Service (SaaS) to public schools in Brazil at a cost of $100 per school, including the software, the tablet, and access to the internet.

CHRG Network App (LT)

CHRG Network App Logo

CHRG Network is a software platform for EV charging that connects all charging stations into a single network, enabling owners to share and monetise their charging stations. We foster the adoption of EV infrastructure helping property owners (housing associations, office & other parking operators) to provide charging service. Our home market is Lithuania, but we look for access to Denmark, Poland, Estonia etc.

The basic function of our software is to help collect payments for the charging service provided.

Secondary, but a no less important function is the Dynamic Load Balancing module which helps efficiently distribute/balance electricity output so that with CHRG software help you can sell 2-3 times more electricity and serve up to 5-10 times more users with the same electricity output (no need for costly physical upgrade). We do that with a special pricing scheme that allows users to select the best option matching their needs. When enough data is available we will enable AI to learn user behaviour so that the software can make the most optimal decisions for them.

Scipopulis (BR)

Scipopulis Logo

We have developed a platform that processes and analyses mobility data in real-time, together with other city data. It generates multiple mobility-related KPIs (including estimates for greenhouse gas emissions) that help cities on the decarbonisation of public transportation.

We have developed (together with our partner, the Institute for Energy and Environment in Brazil) a model that can estimate emissions generated by each bus according to real-world operational conditions.

Besides that, our tool focuses on metrics that are useful for cities and transport planners, while competitors generate metrics focused on the problems of transport operators and companies providing transport services.

Mash Makes (DK)

Mash Makes Logo

We at MASH Makes produce the world’s cheapest hydrogen from agricultural waste and crop residues (biomass) in a way that also sequesters carbon. The benefit is multi-fold: waste reduction + produce high-quality hydrogen from it + sequester the carbon in the soil + make arid and semi-arid lands more fertile and counter desertification.

The technology can cover 50% of the world’s energy needs –while directly sequestering 33% of the global CO2 emissions, and displacing more than 20% fossil-based emissions.

Our innovation combines waste valorization, carbon sequestration, fossil fuel displacement and ultimately combating desertification and climate change.
