    Alexander studied chemistry with industrial experience at the University of Edinburgh and embarked on a career in the Civil Service upon graduation. Alexander provides internal consultancy advice, support and expertise to the CivTech Alliance, and is keen on harnessing the potential of SMEs, international collaboration and GovTech.

    Programme Director

    Alexander Holt heads Emerging Opportunities and Partnerships at the Digital Directorate of the Scottish Government. He is a pioneer of digital innovation and public entrepreneurship, establishing the CivTechⓇ Programme in 2015, comprising the world’s first digital public services accelerator and Europe’s first GovTech programme. His passion is in developing international collaborative networks which power ‘Innovation Diplomacy’, so in 2020 he set up the CivTech Alliance, a global network enabling governments to share insights and discoveries, and actively collaborate with innovative fast-growth businesses through the ground-breaking Global Scale-up Programme.

  • Catherine Gibson-Poole

    Programme Co-ordinator

    Studied animal biology and ecology at the University of Stirling and then went on to work for a leading independent environmental and ecological consultancy. Since then she has worked at Scottish Enterprise and now in the CivTech Alliance team as project support.
